The Performing Arts Department at Lebanon Christian School is dedicated to nurturing students’ creative talents and spiritual growth through music, theater, and dance. We believe that the arts are an essential component of a well-rounded education, providing opportunities for self-expression, problem-solving, and critical thinking. By fostering a supportive and enriching environment, we strive to help students explore their artistic passions, develop valuable life skills, and glorify God through their performances. Our Christian worldview is integrated into our programs, enabling students to gain a deeper understanding of God’s creation and their role in it.
Departmental Goals:
- Spiritual Formation: To integrate faith and values into the performing arts curriculum, helping students to develop a deeper understanding of God’s love and grace.
- Academic Excellence: To offer a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum that equips students with a strong foundation and prepares students for academic success and future artistic endeavors.
- Artistic Development: To foster students’ creative expression, technical skills, and performance abilities through a variety of performing arts disciplines, including music, theater, and dance.
- Character Building: To cultivate students’ character through the values of discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and respect, as well as instilling a sense of Christian stewardship and service.
- Community Engagement: To provide opportunities for students to share their talents with the school community and beyond, promoting a sense of belonging and service.
- Music: Band, Strings, Choir, Worship Team
- Theater: Musical Theater Productions in the Spring for Middle and High School Students
- Audio Visual Tech: Sound, Lighting, and Media development classes
- Performances: Regular performances throughout the school year, including concerts, recitals, and theatrical productions
- Leadership Roles: Opportunities for students to take on leadership roles in productions, ensembles, and student organizations.
- Mentorship: Pairing experienced students with younger students for mentorship and guidance.
